What to Expect during your Quarantine​

Introduction
The following guidelines are established for the health and safety of management, staff, and guests. This document references both WHO guidelines and Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) Technical Guidelines.

All routine encounters with our quarantined guests need to be undertaken with special precautions and protective measures. In general, these interactions involve physical distancing, masks, proper hand hygiene and common sense and should be practiced from first interaction at the airport up until the end of quarantine.

​Current physical distancing guidelines are to maintain at least a 1.5 m/5 feet distance between ourselves and a quarantine guest. In addition, masks must be worn. The mask can either be a surgical mask or a reusable mask.


Proper Hand Hygiene refers to hand washing with soap for at least 40 seconds, or if not immediately available the use of hand sanitizer that contains 60-80% alcohol for at least 20 seconds.

Airport Pick-up
Juliana's Hotel will provide transport for arriving guests. This will be done using a Public Health approved taxi driver.
This taxi driver has been briefed on the safety precautions required during transport and are deemed competent.
This taxi driver will adhere to the following principles:
  • Passengers should only travel in the back seats.
  • Windows should remain open for the duration of the journey.
  • Both driver and passenger should wear a mask at all times during the journey.
  • You should sanitize your hands at the end of the journey.

Hotel Check-in Process
Although it goes against the nature of Juliana's Hotel, greeting the quarantined guests and facilitating the check-in must be done in a physically distant and contact free manner.
  • Prior to your arrival the room will be unlocked and prepared.
  • You will receive a welcome package with a cell phone, menus, WIFI codes, room information, and cleaning supplies etc. (details below)
  • We will provide assistance with your luggage if necessary. (We will wear a face mask and maintain a distance of 1.5 meters/ 5 feet)

Housekeeping
  • ​​We will not enter your accommodations during your quarantine period. This means that daily housekeeping is not available during the quarantine period.
  • Your room will have an adequate supply of basic cleaning supplies such as cleaning wipes, broom, bin liners, etc.

Laundry & Trash
  • Every 3 days fresh towels will be delivered to your closed front door.
  • Every 7 days fresh linens will be delivered to your closed front door.
  • Every 7 days 1 disposable bag is provided for laundry per person and will be picked up and delivered to your closed front door.​
  • ​You can place all trash outside the door on a daily basis.

Guest Meals & Food Delivery
​Groceries upon arrival (shopping list must be emailed prior to arrival). *
  • Juliana’s staff will go grocery shopping for you on Wednesdays. You can email or call us on the cell phone provided.
  • Your “goods” will be delivered to your closed front door, and you may retrieve them after the person has left.
  • Restaurant orders* will be picked up by Wim or Johanna. You can call them on the cell phone provided. It will be delivered to your closed front door.​
* Additional costs will be applied to your room bill.

​Use of Balconies, Patios & Shared Public Spaces
​​You may make use of your personal balconies, patios or other outdoor spaces that are for your personal use only without a mask.
  • At no time is it allowed for a quarantine guest to make use of hotel public spaces including shared decks, pools, or dining areas.​

​​Monitoring of Quarantine
It should be noted that all guests in quarantine will be monitored for adhering to the quarantine rules and will be supported by government security and police in the form of drive-by surveillance.
Persons in quarantine must:
  • remain at the accommodation for 10 days.
  • refrain from physically interacting with others.
  • refrain from having any visitors.
  • respond to periodic calls and messages from Public Health staff.
  • adhere to instructions provided on waste and laundry management.
  • call hospital if their health deteriorates rapidly (+599 416 3288).

Guests who have arrived from a country deemed High Risk will be COVID-19 tested prior to the end of their quarantine.
​Public Health will schedule this test directly with the guest.
