I watched the helicopter land on Saba with the vaccines on Friday February 19th live on Facebook - “How impressive”, I thought.

​The first time I heard of Covid-19, I literally giggled...it’s just a flu...WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL...over the next few months more news kept rolling in of people dying, even on other islands, this is close! The news reports were devastating...and on Sunday March 15th (I remember the exact date) the island announced that it was closing its boarders, and by Tuesday our hotel was empty...and honestly, I cried, all the unsureness was overwhelming!

Juliana’s Hotel opens Captains’ Suites

​​The Bottom, Saba – Juliana’s Hotel in the Windwardside on Thursday officially opened its new Captains’ Suites. Under the supervision of hotel owners Wim and Johanna Schutten, the once derelict building, formerly part of the Captain’s Quarter Hotel, was turned into four spacious suites.

It's finally official! The land has been transferred to J.W. Hotel & Apartments N.V.'s on August 31st 2018!
​We started with this process with a bid in February 2015....you can imagine our joy when everything finally got finalized and the deed was ours!
